Privacy Policy
How Advance collects, uses, and protects your information.
This Privacy Policy explains how Advance (“Advance,” “we,” “us”), operated by Rami El-Abidin, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Advance application at app.advancetouring.com and related sites and services (the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service. This Policy works alongside our Terms of Service.
1. Who the Service is for
Advance is a tour-management tool for musicians and their teams. Most people who use an account are artists, managers, or crew. Some people whose information appears in the Service never log in: promoters, venue contacts, and other show contacts. The account holders they work with enter those details for them (see Section 9, Contacts you add about other people).
2. Information we collect
Information you provide when you create an account
- Name and email address.
- A password, which we store only as a secure hash, so we never see your plaintext password. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic Google profile information instead (name, email, profile image).
Information you add while using the Service
- Show, tour, and venue details; schedules; deal and settlement figures; notes.
- Contacts you add (e.g. promoters, production, hospitality, touring-party members): names, email addresses, phone numbers, and roles.
- Documents and files you upload (e.g. attachments, day sheets).
- Advance emails you forward to your Advance parsing address, including their contents and attachments, so we can extract show details for you.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical and usage data needed to operate and secure the Service (e.g. log data, device/browser type, IP address, and timestamps).
- Essential cookies and local storage keep you signed in and remember your preferences. If you choose to allow optional advertising and measurement cookies, we also use the Meta Pixel and may use Meta’s Conversions API as described below. These optional tools remain off unless you consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time through “Privacy choices.”
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Authenticate you and keep your account and data secure.
- Parse advance emails and documents into structured show data using AI (see Section 5).
- Send transactional messages you ask for or that the Service needs to run, such as sign-up confirmations, password resets, team invitations, and the day sheets you choose to send.
- Provide tokenized “guest” links you generate so people like promoters and venue contacts can view show information without an account. Guest views are scoped, you can revoke them, and deal and financial data stays hidden from them.
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
4. Optional advertising and measurement
If you choose to allow optional advertising and measurement cookies, Advance uses the Meta Pixel on advancetouring.com and app.advancetouring.com to measure page visits, signup-button clicks, and completed account registrations. We may also send a matching completed-registration event from our server through Meta’s Conversions API. We use this information to understand whether our ads lead to visits and registrations, measure campaign performance, limit wasted advertising, and improve our advertising.
Depending on the event and what is available, information sent to Meta may
include the page URL and referring page, event name and time, browser and device
information, IP address and user agent, campaign parameters, Meta cookie
identifiers such as _fbp and _fbc, and a random event identifier used to
prevent duplicate counting. We do not send passwords, tour or show information,
contacts, uploaded files, financial information, or the contents of signup
forms to Meta.
Meta may use this information in accordance with its Business Tools Terms, Privacy Policy, and Cookies Policy. Meta may process information in the United States and other countries. The Meta tools remain completely unloaded when consent is missing or denied. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by selecting “Privacy choices” in the site footer or app settings. Withdrawing consent stops future Meta tracking and removes Meta cookies that Advance can remove from your browser. It does not undo processing that occurred before withdrawal. See our Cookie Policy for details about these cookies and their duration.
5. AI processing of advances
When you use the AI advance parser (by forwarding an advance email or uploading a document), we send the content you submit to our AI provider, Anthropic, to extract show details (dates, schedule, contacts, deal terms, and so on). That content may include information about third parties, such as promoter or venue contacts. We send only what the parsing needs. Anthropic processes it to return results to us and, under our API terms, does not use it to train their models.
6. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Service, and with the subprocessors below. We require providers to protect the information they handle on our behalf.
| Provider | Purpose | What they process |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase (hosted on AWS) | Database, authentication, file storage, serverless functions | Account data and all content you store |
| Vercel | Application hosting and delivery | Technical and log data for requests |
| Resend | Sending transactional email (confirmations, invites, day sheets) and receiving the advance emails you forward | Recipient addresses, email content, and forwarded advance content and attachments |
| Anthropic | AI parsing of advances (Section 5) | Content you submit for parsing |
| Google Maps Platform | Venue lookup, geocoding, time zones | Venue names and addresses you enter |
| Slack (optional) | Posting day sheets to a workspace you connect | Day-sheet content for connected teams only |
| Meta Platforms | Optional advertising attribution and campaign measurement, only after consent | Page and referral information, event details, technical/browser information, campaign parameters, Meta cookie identifiers, and deduplication identifiers; completed-registration data only as described above |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition. In that case we will honor the commitments in this Policy.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as long as we need it to provide the Service. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time (Section 8). We will delete it within a reasonable period, except where we must keep limited records to comply with the law.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email hello@advancetouring.com and we will respond within the timeframe the law requires. You can also:
- Update most account and content data directly in the app.
- Ask us for a full export or deletion of your account data.
We won’t penalize you for exercising these rights.
9. Contacts you add about other people
Advance lets you store information about people who don’t have accounts (e.g. promoters, venue staff, crew). When you add someone else’s information, you are responsible for having a proper basis to do so. If you are one of those contacts and want to know what we store about you or have it removed, contact the team that added you, or email us at hello@advancetouring.com and we will help route the request.
10. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, row-level security that isolates each team’s data at the database layer, and scoped access controls for our serverless functions. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and keep improving our safeguards.
11. International data transfers
We operate the Service from the United States, and our providers may process and store information in the U.S. and other countries. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that we may transfer your information to the U.S. and process it there, under data-protection laws that may differ from those in your country.
12. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, let you know. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Policy.
